Lebanese Lira To Us Dollar – 16/4/2021

Today, Friday, April 16, 2021, the Lebanese Lira to US Dollar is not expected to be very different from yesterday’s closing rate.

After the Lebanese Central Bank announced the official currency rate platform, the USD to LBP applications became unclear.

The new platform by the BDL will be the primary and only source of the currency’s rate.

Accordingly, the BDL expects to regulate the black market rates by centralizing the process on a single platform.

Moreover, banks will start exchanging the Dollar to LBP and vice versa over the counter.

Will this procedure reduce the US Dollar price to under $1 = 10,000 LBP as governor Riad Salameh expects?

We will keep a close eye on this as soon as the platform is officially launched.
